Mike founded Scituate Surveys in 1980. As president of the firm, he is responsible for operations management, design oversight, and representation of clients at public hearings. He is a seasoned guide, assisting our clients through the bureaucratic labyrinth to obtain environmental and subdivision permitting approvals. Additionally, Mike has supervised thousands of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS), many of which use leading edge septic system technology. Mike’s thirty years of land surveying experience is supplemented by his background in electrical engineering, civil engineering, and top-secret aerial and electronic reconnaissance for the United States Navy. His licenses include a Class II (Septic) Designer’s License and a Class IV Soil Evaluator’s license, which enables him to determine water table design depth year-round.

John joined Scituate Surveys in 1986 and became Vice President of the firm in 1989. He has broad experience in all aspects of surveying, land planning and design, and manages the day-to-day operations of the firm. He is responsible for client and staff coordination, and personally supervises all research, field surveys, data analysis, and plan preparation. John’s commitment to land evidence research and its relationship to the location of boundaries in New England, as well as his award-winning plan designs, has led to statewide recognition of our work by title companies, lenders, attorneys, developers and related professionals.

John joined Scituate Surveys in 1986 as a field technician after a career as a professional archaeologist. His subsequent experience has led to the position of Senior Designer in the firm, and his duties include the areas of land records research, aerial photogrammetry and topographic compilation, septic system design, computer-aided drafting and design, Class IV soil evaluation, global positional system data collection and archaeological surveys and evaluation.
